Dickensian Costume Drama

Now that the BBC’s Dickensian costume drama is in full swing, I can say it’s A MUST WATCH!

A montage of characters from Great Expectations, Oliver Twist and Bleak house. A whodunit mastery that I had the pleasure of making costumes for two of the principles: the stunning Tuppence Middleton playing a young Ms. Haversham and lovely Sophie Rundle playing a young Honoria.

The Costume Designer is Andrea Gailer, mainly known for the “Withnail and I” coat worn by Richard E Grant. This woman is so amazingly talented! Her experience, energy and wisdom blew me away. With a portfolio of films and dramas that Andrea has worked on she is the Beebs sparkling gem of a lady.

I had the pleasure of sharing her studio for a while until the lease ran out and so became aware of the juggling and tight turn over of prepping garments for shooting, whether they be hired, made from scratch or recalled from her vast archive. I look forward to seeing whodunit!
