Distressed Rose
To create a unique distressed, chaotic , vintage, contemporary with a dash of costume like this , takes more than chance and has to be really carefully considered.
With the addition of blood sweat, tears & Love & hand dyed silk tulle and panels of lace and twisted detail… de DAH!. I managed to save the day and my dignity as a designer, I hope was restored.
This outfit started as a one piece dress with inner corset ; long, pretty; generic head bridesmaids dress , with tulle overlay, but working within a budget and spending most of the budget on the silk, has its restrictions.
The client then wanted something completely different & unique and more in keeping with her vision was this; a distressed wonky looking ensemble.
I decided to embrace this change in spec and I simply adore her.
It’s not often that I make for bridesmaids as the budget is generally too low, but this was a special situation.
So watch this space as I am seriously thinking about investing in building a bridal sample in ivory.
